Overview

About PSUKGSDG

The Pragati Scholarship helps girl students take up technical education. It is a scheme of the Ministry of Education, implemented across India by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which fixes the income ceiling and the other conditions. Uttarakhand carries an allocation of 81 places for girls in diploma courses and 50 for girls in graduation (degree) courses, and the state's Directorate of Technical Education lists the scheme on its portal.

The aim is to widen women's participation in engineering and allied technical fields, and to help girls finish a diploma or degree without dropping out for want of money. Selected students receive an annual cash scholarship, paid into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

It is meant for female students admitted to the first year, or to the second year through lateral entry, of an engineering diploma or degree at an AICTE-approved institution in Uttarakhand, subject to the family-income ceiling and other conditions AICTE sets. Applications are made online through AICTE's scholarship portal.
