Scholarship
Post Matric Students of Class 11th & 12th (Scheduled Caste)(PMSOCSC)
Overview
About PMSOCSC
Post Matric Students of Class 11th & 12th (Scheduled Caste) is a Madhya Pradesh state scholarship run by the Department of Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The state launched it in 1976-77 to keep Scheduled Caste students in school beyond Class 10, and it is applied for online through the state government's scholarship system.
The benefit is in kind rather than a cash stipend. The scheme reimburses the scholarship fees of eligible Scheduled Caste students studying in Class 11 or 12, easing the cost of the higher secondary years for families that would otherwise struggle to meet them.
Eligibility is limited to students from the Scheduled Caste category who are enrolled in Class 11 or 12 at a recognized institution in Madhya Pradesh. It also carries an income test: the family's annual income must fall below the department's prescribed limit, and the guardian has to declare that the family income has not risen over the last financial year. Applicants apply with a caste certificate, an income certificate, proof of admission and a residence certificate, so students who cannot document their category, income or domicile fall outside the scheme.
