Post SSC Scholarship for Boys/Girls from Socially and Educationally Backward Classes(PSSCSBGSEBC)

The scheme record carries no open or close date. The state scholarship portal announces the windows on its front page, and they are set per category and per academic year rather than once for the whole department:

SEBC and NTDNT students file in the OBC stream, and the guidelines for developing-caste students repeat the same window the portal announces there (Gujarat State Scholarship Portal, SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines). The reopened Scheduled Caste window in the table shows the pattern worth planning around: the department does sometimes reopen a closed year for students left out, but that is a discretionary second chance, not a schedule. The guidelines ask students not to wait for the last date and to fill the form under the institution's guidance.

Residency, a pass in the SSC examination and an SEBC or NTDNT certificate from a competent authority are the gate the record sets out. The income test is the part that gets misread, because Gujarat has it in print in two places and the two printings are years apart.

The directorate's boys page still shows an annual income limit of Rs 47,000 for rural applicants and Rs 68,000 for urban ones, on a page whose financial columns stop at 2018-19 (Post SSC Scholarship for boys). The girls page states plainly that there is no annual income limit (Post SSC Scholarship to Girls). Those rural and urban figures are not what a current form is measured against. The rate sheet inside the guidelines issued for the running academic year carries its own income column, and the boys' ceiling printed there is the one the scheme's own record repeats, with girls left outside the income test in both printings (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines).

On the boys' side there is a floor under the ceiling, and it decides more applications than the ceiling does. The guidelines send students at or below the central scheme's income line to the PM YASASVI Post Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT Students instead, so this state line begins where the central one stops (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines). A boy whose family sits under that line and files here has not asked for a larger scholarship, he has filed on the wrong form. Whichever line applies, only a caste or income certificate issued by a competent authority may be uploaded, so a certificate from the wrong desk fails at the attachment stage rather than at sanction.

The institution matters as much as the income. A student at a self-financed college is outside this particular scholarship, because the guidelines restrict it to government and grant-in-aid institutions and higher secondary schools, and that restriction is easy to miss when a college advertises the scheme without saying which stream it belongs to.

The scheme's record publishes no exclusion list. The application guidelines do, and most of the disqualifications are procedural rather than about who you are:

• A student who applies under the wrong scheme by mistake cannot claim the difference in amount afterwards.
• An application that is never final-submitted, or whose printout is never handed to the institution with the documents, is not taken up at all.
• Concealed or false information ends in blacklisting, with no second form permitted, and duplicate applications are explicitly discouraged.
• A dormant bank account, one with no deposit or withdrawal activity for a long stretch, cannot receive the credit.
• One scholarship is payable in one recognised academic session.

Each of those comes from the guidelines the portal publishes for SEBC applicants (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines).

A student who applied last year and was sanctioned the scholarship under the rules is not expected to file a fresh form. The portal places that application in Renewal mode automatically, and the student reopens it, checks the registration, bank, academic and disability details, uploads the attachments the new year needs and sends it. Where a past recipient does not see Renewal mode at all, the guidelines tell them to go through Request a New Service and file fresh rather than wait for it to appear (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines). A student returning after a gap in study has an extra step: an undertaking that no course was taken and no scholarship was drawn during the break.

Two things set the yearly figure, and only one of them is the academic group. The other is whether the student boards in a hostel. The rate sheet inside the current guidelines runs the state post-matric line across Groups A to D and splits each of them between hosteller and day scholar, which is what the yearly span in the scheme's record describes: its low end is a Group D day scholar's rate and its high end a Group A hosteller's (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines).

The directorate's own scheme pages still publish an earlier card, quoted per month instead of per year:

Claiming the hosteller rate is not automatic. The hosteller certificate is downloaded from the portal's instruction page, signed and stamped by the hostel authority, scanned and uploaded with the form.

Beyond the certificates the record names, the guidelines are specific about form and sequence. Marksheets go up as the final-year sheet of every course from Std 10 onwards, in order, not just the latest one. Originals are to be scanned and uploaded, with photocopies allowed only where an original genuinely cannot be produced, and a self-attested set of the same documents goes to the institution with the printed application.

The income certificate has variants the record does not mention: where the father is not living, a death certificate accompanies the mother's income certificate, and where the parents are divorced, the divorce order supports it. Where the guardian is in government service, an income-tax document is required alongside the certificate. Bank proof means the passbook page carrying the account number, the IFSC and the branch, or a cancelled cheque showing the same three, and where a bank has been merged, the post-merger IFSC and account number. A married female applicant adds a marriage certificate, a student with a disability adds the certificate from the competent authority, and the annual fee receipt, a passport-size photograph and the Aadhaar number complete the set (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines).

Registration on the Digital Gujarat portal comes first, with a mobile number and an email address that both stay reachable until the money arrives, because the OTP and every later message go there. The profile has to be updated before the scholarship form will open. A returning student reuses last year's login, recovers a forgotten password through an OTP to the registered mobile, and, if that number is gone, has to establish identity at the district OBC office before it can be changed.

Inside the portal the route is Services, then Scholarship Services, then Request a New Service. Select the financial year you are applying for, pick the scheme from the list under the Director Developing Caste Welfare heading, and work through the registration, bank, academic and disability blocks before uploading the attachments. The form closes with Verify Mobile Number and then Confirm and Final Submit, at which point it travels online to the institution named in it. A student in a village can have the form filled at an E-gram centre. All of the work is online, and no part of the scholarship is paid offline.

Digital Gujarat carries no separate status page. A student goes back into Scholarship Services, picks from the dropdown the financial year the form was filed under, and reads the application's state from what the screen still offers: while a Withdraw button is present in the student's own login, the school, college or university has not acted on the form, and that is the only window in which an error can be pulled back, corrected and sent again. Payment then reaches the bank account seeded to the student's Aadhaar number, so the seeding is worth confirming at the bank before the deadline rather than after a credit fails. There is no merit ranking published for this scholarship. Eligibility, the institution's verification of the submitted form and the district office's sanction are the whole test, which is unusual enough in Gujarat's scholarship set to be worth naming: on the Scheduled Caste side, the state's Bhagwan Budhdh Scholarship for SC girls takes diploma applicants only on 50% or more in Std 10 or Std 12, and graduate applicants only on 50% or more in Std 12 (State's Post SSC Scholarship to SC girls students). Nothing equivalent is published here.

The verification stage is where careless form-filling costs a year. Selecting the wrong institution or the wrong course sends the application to a school, college or university that has no reason to act on it, and the guidelines place that responsibility on the student. Where a course is missing from the menu, the institution has to add it from its own login before the student can select it.

One scholarship is payable per recognised academic session, and the session end date on the form is the annual one obtained from the institution, not a semester date. Nothing can be edited after Confirm and Final Submit unless the application is withdrawn or returned. An incorrect account number that sends the money elsewhere is the student's own liability, and trying to obtain the scholarship by hiding information ends the student's access to it (SEBC post matric scholarship guidelines).
