Overview

About PMSSCSN

The Post Matric Scholarship to Scheduled Tribe Students of Nagaland is a cash scholarship for ST students of the state who have crossed the matriculation stage and are continuing their studies. The Department of Higher Education, Nagaland, administers it, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, is the nodal ministry.

The scheme belongs to the centrally sponsored Post Matric Scholarship for ST students, jointly funded by the Union government and the state. Its purpose is to help Scheduled Tribe students meet the cost of education beyond class 10 so that money does not force them out of the system. Support is paid as a scholarship, routed through the National Scholarship Portal and transferred to the student through the Aadhaar-based payment system.

It is meant for Scheduled Tribe students of Nagaland studying at the post-matric level, from class 11 through to postgraduate courses. Applications are made online on the National Scholarship Portal and are checked by institution nodal officers and state-level officials before the scholarship is released.
