Overview

About PVPMC

Pichda Varg Post Matric Chhatravritti is a post-matric scholarship run by the Madhya Pradesh government for students from backward classes. The Hindi name translates as the Backward Class post-matriculation scholarship. It is delivered through the Madhya Pradesh Scholarship Portal, the same online system the state uses for its other post-matric awards.

The aim is to keep the cost of studying beyond Class 10 within reach for students whose families have limited income. The benefit centres on tuition-fee support, so that fees are less likely to force a student to leave a course before finishing it.

It is meant for Other Backward Class students who are residents of Madhya Pradesh and enrolled in a recognised post-matric course, which runs from higher secondary through graduate and postgraduate study. Whether a student qualifies depends on caste category, state domicile and a family-income ceiling, and applications are submitted online through the state scholarship portal.
