About PGSPLS
The Post Graduate Scholarship for Ph.D./LLM Students is a state scholarship administered by the Directorate of Higher Education under the Higher Education Department, Government of Assam. It offers monthly cash assistance to students from Assam who are enrolled in doctoral (Ph.D.) or LLM courses at recognised institutions.
The award helps scholars meet the costs of postgraduate research and legal study. Payment reaches the student as a monthly stipend, credited to the bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer so the amount moves without an intermediary.
To be considered, you need to be domiciled in Assam and to meet the minimum marks the scheme sets in your last qualifying examination. Applications are routed through your college or university, which verifies the form before it reaches the Directorate.
