Overview

About PMSC

The Post-Matric Scholarship is a Madhya Pradesh scheme for Scheduled Tribe students, run by the state's Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department. Post-matric means study that continues past matriculation, so the scholarship reaches students in classes 11 and 12, in college, and in professional and doctoral courses.

The department pays the benefit as cash, to help Scheduled Tribe students meet the cost of continuing their education after school. It runs the scholarship as part of a wider set of education schemes for Scheduled Tribes.

Eligibility is limited to Scheduled Tribe students who are natives of Madhya Pradesh and enrolled at these post-matric levels. Income conditions and the amounts payable vary by course and category, and are set out in the scheme's own eligibility rules.
