One-day Seminar on Vedic Mathematics(ODSVM)
Overview
About ODSVM
The One-day Seminar on Vedic Mathematics is a state-level training programme of the Department of Sanskrit Education, Government of Uttarakhand, implemented by the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy in Haridwar. It runs for a single day and covers Vedic Mathematics, a set of mental-calculation shortcuts drawn from the book of that name by the scholar Bharati Krishna Tirtha, first published in 1965.
The seminar is built as a common platform for officers, teachers and students from Uttarakhand's universities, colleges, schools and other departments, so they can learn the simplified Vedic Mathematics curriculum and its quick, practical methods. The benefit is in kind rather than cash: participants leave with the training and a working knowledge of the techniques, and there is no stipend, scholarship amount or reimbursement attached.
There is no open application. The seminar runs by invitation: once its date, time and venue are fixed, the convener submits a list of invitees, and the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy formally invites each of them by letter. Because selection is handled this way, there is no online form to fill in.
