Overview

About NASELGTKVN

The New Akanksha Scheme is an education loan run by the Gujarat Thakor and Koli Vikas Nigam (GTKVN), a corporation under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Government of Gujarat. GTKVN works for the advancement of the Thakor and Koli communities in the state, and this scheme applies that role to education by lending against the cost of higher study.

The support is a loan, offered at subsidised rates of interest so that students from these two communities can meet the expense of higher education. It is aimed at graduate and postgraduate study in professional fields, with engineering, medicine, MBA and MCA named among the courses it covers. Being a loan and not a grant, the amount is repaid over time on the terms GTKVN sets.

Eligibility is confined to students who belong to the Thakor or Koli communities and meet the scheme's stated conditions. Applications are made through a Common Service Centre or your elected representative rather than to GTKVN directly. The loan amount, interest rate and other terms are set out in the scheme's official record, and you should confirm them there before applying.
