Overview

About MMPVEAPVKVPY

Mukhyamantri Pichhda Varg Evam Ati Pichhda Varg Kaushal Vikas Prashikshan Yojana is a Bihar government scheme that gives free skill-development training to young people from Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class communities. It was launched by the Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, and is run through the Bihar State Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation.

The aim is to make these youth more employable and better able to earn, so they can take up a job or start a venture of their own. The benefit is in kind rather than cash: selected candidates get hands-on training in a chosen trade at no cost, and those who finish the course and pass the assessment receive a certificate along with support in finding work.

The scheme is open to residents of Bihar between 18 and 45 who belong to the Backward or Extremely Backward classes and hold an Aadhaar number. Training runs at approved skill-development centres, where a batch is formed and cleared before it begins; candidates apply in person at a nearby centre with their caste, residence and income documents.
