Overview

About MNBMSSY

Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana is a welfare scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh, run by the state Labour Department for building and other construction workers. It belongs to the welfare system that Indian states maintain under the Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996, which regulates the employment and conditions of construction workers and provides for their welfare. In Chhattisgarh that welfare is administered through the state's Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, which registers workers and funds schemes for them.

The benefit is paid in cash, to support the education of the meritorious children of registered workers.

Eligibility runs through the parent's registration rather than through the student alone. A household comes into scope once the construction worker is enrolled as a beneficiary of the welfare board and the child clears the scheme's merit and course conditions. The award amounts, the qualifying marks, and the way to apply are set and processed by the Chhattisgarh Labour Department and its welfare board.
