Overview

About MAJEAJCAY

Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jati Evam Anusuchit Janjati Chhatrawas Anudan Yojana is a state-level welfare scheme of the Government of Bihar, administered by the state's Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department. In the scheme's name, 'chhatrawas' means hostel and 'anudan' means grant, so the scheme works as a hostel grant for students from these communities.

It provides a monthly grant of Rs 1,000 to students who stay in hostels run for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe pupils. The support is intended to ease the recurring cost of living in a hostel while a student continues their studies.

The grant is meant for individual Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students who are residents of Bihar, are studying in a recognised course at a recognised educational institution, and reside in a hostel run under the department's guidelines.
