Overview

About LTSHSA

Loans to Tribal Students for Higher Studies Abroad is a state loan scheme of the Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The department runs education support for Gujarat's Scheduled Tribe population, and this scheme is administered through the Gujarat Tribal Development Corporation, which lists a loan for higher studies abroad among its financial assistance programmes.

The scheme lends money to tribal students so they can meet the cost of a degree pursued outside India. The benefit is a loan: money that must be repaid, not an outright grant.

It is meant for individual students from Gujarat's Scheduled Tribe communities who intend to study abroad. The eligibility conditions, the courses covered, the rate of interest, the loan ceiling and the repayment terms are set by the corporation and published with the scheme, so an applicant should read those before applying.
