Overview

About GSCCS

The Guruji Student Credit Card (GSCC) Scheme is an education-loan programme run by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand. The state's chief minister launched it in March 2024 to help students in Jharkhand fund higher studies without stalling for want of money.

The benefit is delivered as a subsidised, collateral-free education loan, with the state government acting as guarantor. Repayment is structured to begin only after the course ends, so the debt does not fall due while a student is still studying. It is meant for students who have passed Class 10 or Class 12 from recognised schools in Jharkhand and want to continue into a diploma, undergraduate or higher course.

Eligibility is tied to where a student gets admitted. The scheme supports admission at institutions that rank among the top 200 overall, or the top 100 of their category, on India's National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), whether inside or outside Jharkhand but within India. Applicants must be domiciled in Jharkhand.
