Overview

About GTIAR

Gausevak Training (Initial and Refresher) is a Madhya Pradesh state scheme run by the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. It trains rural youth as gausevaks who can deliver primary veterinary care in villages where such services are otherwise hard to reach.

The programme has two purposes. It gives educated but unemployed rural youth a route to self-employment, and it puts trained hands closer to livestock in remote areas. The department funds the training fully and pays a cash stipend to selected trainees, with a smaller stipend and study material for those who return for refresher training after completing the initial course.

It is meant for unemployed rural residents of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates are nominated at the village level through the gram panchayat and cleared at the block level; the refresher round is open to people who have already finished the initial training, chosen by seniority. Application is handled offline through the local veterinary officer or animal dispensary in charge.
