Overview

About FASCMBS

The Financial Incentive to SC Meritorious Boy Students is a state scholarship run by the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Government of Assam. It gives a one-time cash award of ₹5,000 to boys from Scheduled Caste communities in Assam who score 80% or above in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination.

The scheme's aim is to motivate Scheduled Caste students to pursue higher education and to help bring them on par with the wider student population. Eligibility is limited to male SC students of Assam whose parents' annual income does not exceed ₹5,00,000, and the payment is released to those the directorate's Selection Committee approves.

You apply online through the myScheme portal, which needs a DigiLocker account. The scheme is one of a set of SC welfare incentives the directorate runs in Assam, alongside a parallel award for meritorious SC girl students.
