Overview

About FASTPSCGAMEIE

The Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes Department of the Government of Assam runs this scheme to help Scheduled Tribe (Plains) students meet the cost of coaching for competitive entrance examinations. It is administered through the state's Directorate of Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes, and it is aimed at students preparing for admission to medical, engineering and IIT programmes.

The scheme reimburses the coaching expenses that eligible students incur while preparing for these entrance tests. The aim is to ease the cost of the exam-preparation coaching these tests usually require, so that it weighs less heavily on ST (Plains) families in Assam.

It is meant for students of the Scheduled Tribe (Plains) community in Assam who are undergoing, or have completed within the past year, coaching for a medical, engineering or IIT entrance test. Applications are made on the prescribed form and submitted to the Directorate within the notified dates.
