Overview

About FASCCSPCUA

The Financial Assistance to Students who Cleared Civil Services Prelims Conducted by UPSC/APSC is a scheme run by the Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare under the Government of Assam. It supports candidates from the state's Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities who have cleared the Civil Services Preliminary Examination held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

Clearing the prelims is only the first stage, and the Mains examination that follows asks for months of focused study. The scheme gives eligible candidates a cash grant after they clear the prelims, so that a student who has already qualified can keep preparing for the Mains rather than stopping for want of funds.

Eligibility is limited to permanent residents of Assam who belong to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community and who cleared the preliminary examination in the relevant year. Applicants submit a caste certificate issued by the competent district authority along with proof of having passed the prelims. The directorate runs the scheme cycle by cycle and accepts applications online through the state's SIRISH scholarship portal.
