About FAUAME

Financial Assistance for UPSC/APSC Mains Exam is a cash-support scheme of the Government of Assam, administered through the state's Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes Department and its directorate. It provides a cash grant to help candidates from reserved communities cover the cost of sitting the higher stage of the civil services examinations.

The scheme is for Scheduled Tribe and OBC/MOBC students of Assam who have cleared the preliminary round of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) and qualified to appear in the mains examination.

Applications are submitted in the prescribed form to the directorate, using the form the directorate makes available to download.

Eligibility criteria

The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribes (ST)/Other Backward Classes (OBC)/More Other Backward Classes (MOBC) community of Assam.
The applicant must have passed the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) or Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Preliminary Examination in the current year.
