Overview

About CTSFVIP

The Computer Training Scheme for Visually Impaired Persons is a Madhya Pradesh state scheme run by the state's Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. It trains visually impaired residents to use a computer with screen-reading software, and it gives each trained beneficiary a laptop to keep.

The benefit is in kind rather than a cash transfer. A beneficiary receives the training and the laptop that goes with it, not a scholarship amount. Screen-reading software reads out what is on the screen, so the training is built around helping a visually impaired person work on a computer on their own and improve their chances of employment.

The scheme is open to visually impaired individuals in Madhya Pradesh. The state department sets the eligibility conditions and the application process.
