About CHS

The Coaching Help Scheme is a Gujarat state scheme for non-reserved (unreserved) category students in the Science stream at the Standard 11 and Standard 12 levels. It is run under the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department and implemented by the Gujarat Unreserved Education and Economic Development Corporation (GUEEDC), the body the department uses to handle education and economic support for unreserved-class students.

The benefit is paid in cash. It goes toward the cost of private coaching for students preparing for competitive entrance examinations such as JEE, GUJCET and NEET, so that families in the non-reserved category who cannot readily fund separate tuition are less likely to be priced out of medical and engineering admissions.
