Combined Merit Scholarship(CMS-G)
Overview
About CMS-G
The Combined Merit Scholarship is a state merit scholarship run by the Higher Education Department, Government of Assam, and administered through the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE). It supports students who are entering the first semester of a general degree or master degree course at recognised institutions in the state.
The award is merit-based and paid as a monthly cash stipend, with separate rates for degree and master-level students. It is meant for academically strong students who clear the department's qualifying-marks bar in their last examination, so the benefit follows performance rather than a fixed roster of colleges.
Eligibility is scoped to male students domiciled in Assam who are enrolled in the first semester of a general degree or master programme in the arts, science or commerce streams at provincialised, government or state and central institutions in Assam. If you fall outside that domicile, gender or enrolment window, this particular scheme will not apply, and the exact marks threshold and stipend rate are set out in the official listing.
