Overview

About CASCSPEINNC

Gujarat's Social Justice and Empowerment Department runs this scheme through its Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare. It gives financial help to Scheduled Caste students in the state who are preparing for the entrance examinations of national institutions such as the IIMs, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), the National Law Universities (NLUs), and the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT).

Coaching for these entrance tests is usually run privately, and the fees can be hard for many families to spare. The scheme covers the coaching fee up to a limit fixed by the department.

The assistance is meant for students from the Scheduled Caste category who are residents of Gujarat, with different academic thresholds applied to the IIM route and to the CEPT, NIFT, and NLU route. Students apply online through the state's e-Samaj Kalyan portal, where the department checks the caste certificate and academic record before the assistance is released.
