Coaching Assistance Scheme for Preparation of Recruitment Exams for Scheduled Caste Students(CASPRESCS)
Overview
About CASPRESCS
The Coaching Assistance Scheme for Preparation of Recruitment Exams is a Gujarat state scheme for Scheduled Caste students. It is run by the Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare under the state's Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, was introduced in 2017-18, and carries the scheme code SCW-11.
The scheme helps SC students meet the cost of coaching for government recruitment examinations. It covers up to Rs 20,000 of the coaching fee, or the actual fee if that is lower, and adds fixed allowances towards meals, stationery and pocket money during the training. The support is paid as a cash grant, credited to the student's own bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer rather than to a coaching institute.
It is aimed at Scheduled Caste students of Gujarat who have completed their graduation with at least 50% marks and want to prepare for a recruitment exam. Age limits apply (35 for men, 40 for women), the applicant and their parents must not hold a government job, and the benefit can be claimed only once. Applications follow the form and process set out on the official scheme page. If you qualify, treat it as one-time coaching support rather than an ongoing scholarship.
