Overview

About CMLH-PREM

The CM's Lairik Heiminnashi Programme (CMLH) Pre-Matric Remedial Coaching is a Manipur state scheme run by the state's Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes Department. It arranges remedial coaching in English, Mathematics and Science for school students from Manipur's minority, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Caste (SC) communities who are studying in Classes 8 to 10 under the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM).

The coaching is meant as support for students who are weak in these subjects, to help them raise their marks. It runs for six months per class and is delivered at government schools, recognised private schools and registered coaching centres that the department empanels. It is offered free of cost to the selected students; the funds go to the empanelled coaching centres to cover the cost of running the classes, rather than as a payment to individual students.

Eligibility is for students of Manipur's minority, OBC or SC communities who are enrolled in government academic institutions, or in institutions the government supports through grant-in-aid. Places are filled from a combined merit list, one ranking on family income and one on the previous year's marks, with at least 30% of the seats reserved for girl students. Eligible students are put forward through their institutions.
