Overview

About CSISMP

The Civil Service Incentive Scheme is a cash award from the Government of Madhya Pradesh for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates who take the civil services examinations. It is run by the state's Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, which handles applications through the Assistant Commissioner or District Coordinator of the welfare office in each district.

The purpose is to raise SC and ST representation in the administrative services by easing what it costs to prepare for and clear these exams. The incentive covers both the UPSC Civil Services Examination and the Madhya Pradesh State Service Examination held by the MPPSC, and it is paid in parts tied to the preliminary, main, and interview rounds. A candidate receives the award for a stage only after clearing that stage.

The scheme is meant for SC and ST candidates who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh and whose family income stays within the ceiling the department fixes.
