Bhagwan Budhdh Scholarship(BBS)

There is no separate calendar for this scheme. It opens and closes with the common SC post-matric window the state announces on the scholarship portal, and the notice standing there now runs from 06/07/2026 to 30/09/2026. A second, narrower notice on the same page was for students left over from the previous academic year, 19/08/2026 to 02/09/2026, and that one has already closed (Gujarat State Scholarship Portal).

The scheme's own paperwork is a good deal older than either notice. The oldest government resolution the department lists against BCK-5 is dated 05/04/2018 (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, BCK-5).

The marks bar is where applications fail quietly. A diploma-level course is tested on either Std 10 or Std 12, and a graduate-level course only on Std 12, in both cases at 50% or more, in the department's own wording a percentile rather than a raw mark (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, BCK-5).

The annexure adds a condition the scheme page leaves out: the approved tuition fee is released only after that percentage standard has been checked against the terms of the governing resolution (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

On income the test runs the opposite way to the usual one. A family at or under 2.50 Lakh belongs in BCK-6.1, the centrally sponsored scheme listed a little further down the same page, and BCK-5 begins where that scheme stops (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, BCK-5). The scheme also carries across the conditions of the Government of India's Post Matric Scholarship Scheme Guidelines, so a student who fails those fails this one too.

The scheme record carries no exclusion list. The department's filing instructions rule out several situations in practice.

• SC boys. The state runs their post-SSC scholarship as a separate code, BCK-5A, on an income band with a top as well as a bottom.
• A girl whose family income sits under the floor. The test here is a minimum, not a ceiling, and an income below it is the centrally sponsored scheme's ground rather than this one's.
• A girl admitted on a Freeship Card. The annexure carries a separate Freeship Card row for this scheme, marked for college-level courses, and directs students admitted on that card to apply in that row and no other.
• A girl who fills in something false or holds something back, who is barred from filling a scholarship form again and blacklisted where the concealment was an attempt to obtain the scholarship.

The BCK-5 scheme page says nothing about a second year. What governs one is the portal-wide rule in the department's filing guideline: a girl who applied online last year and was paid under the rules finds this year's form waiting for her in Renewal mode, prefilled with what the portal already holds about her, and her work on it is verification rather than data entry - registration, bank, academic and disability details checked, the year's attachments added, the form sent.

The rule has a documented failure case worth knowing before the window shuts. Where she was paid last year and no renewal form appears at all, the guideline does not ask her to wait for one: she goes back through Request a New Service, picks the year and files the scheme's form afresh (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

The rate is a group-wise academic allowance, and it is the group rather than the course title that sets the figure. Hostellers are paid more than day scholars in every group.

Two things sit on top of that allowance: the approved tuition fee with approved other fees, and a disability allowance where the student is disabled (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, BCK-5). The same page prints the groups without defining them and attaches no period to the figures, so which group a course falls in has to be settled with the district office or read out of the governing resolution.

The rate card is worth reading beside BCK-6.1, which publishes the identical group figures (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, BCK-6.1). A girl who crosses the income line therefore does not drop to a smaller scholarship. She changes which government is paying it.

The list on the record is the ordinary one. The instructions are stricter in the corners, and the corners are where files come back.

• The income certificate must be the guardian's. Where the father has died, the death certificate goes with it. Where the parents are divorced, the mother's income certificate is accepted against the order. A father or guardian who draws a government salary brings one more paper with him: the income tax form covering that salary.
• Marksheets are year-wise, final-year, in order, from the SSC year onwards.
• A break in study after SSC needs a declaration that no course was taken and no scholarship was drawn during the gap.
• There is a fixed format for the hostel certificate, and it does not come from the hostel: she pulls the blank off the portal, has the competent authority sign and stamp it, and uploads that.
• A married girl student attaches her marriage certificate.
• The account is proved with the passbook's first page, and where there is no passbook a cancelled cheque stands in for it; either way the number, the IFSC code and the branch have to be readable on the scan.

Everything is uploaded as a scan of the original, and a photocopy is permitted only where the original cannot be produced (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

Filing runs on Digital Gujarat and the sequence is fixed. After logging in, open Scholarship Services from the Services menu, click Request a New Service, select the financial year, and pick the scheme from the list published under the Director Scheduled Caste Welfare heading. Continue to Service opens the form, where the Registration, Bank, Academic and Disability details are filled and every applicable document is attached. The passport-size photograph goes in last, then Verify Mobile Number, the OTP, and Confirm and Final Submit (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students). The guideline itself, and the window it has to be filed in, are posted on the Gujarat State Scholarship Portal (Gujarat State Scholarship Portal).

Submitting online is only half the job. An application that has not been finally submitted on the portal, or whose printout has not been handed to the school or college with all the documents, cannot be taken into consideration (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

A girl from Gujarat who is studying outside the state files in the same place, with one paper step added. The guideline keeps her on Digital Gujarat and then asks for a copy of the application with everything she uploaded, together with the institution's recognition, the recognition of her course and its fee approval order, to be lodged under the institution's forwarding letter at the Scheduled Caste office of her home district (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

Status is read from inside the account rather than from any public page. The portal's own answer to the question is to log in and open the My Applications section, which shows each application against its current status (Digital Gujarat, frequently asked questions).

Selection is not a competition here. The department publishes neither a list of selected names nor a qualifying mark above the eligibility bar, and what the guideline sets out instead is a chain of desks: the institution the form was sent to verifies it, and the file is then worked by the district office the department names as the implementing authority (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

Two of the conditions bite before the form is ever sent. The date the course ends is not hers to estimate: she takes it from her institution, and she enters the annual date rather than a semester one. And the print-out she hands in has to carry a self-attested copy of every document she uploaded (Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, guideline for SC students).

The money then rests entirely on one bank account, which is where two avoidable losses sit. An account left unused long enough to go dormant cannot take the credit, so the department tells students to check that at the bank while the form is open; and where a wrong account number is typed in and the scholarship lands elsewhere, the responsibility is the student's alone.

After final submit she cannot change the application on her own. Either the institution sends it back to her for correction, or, at the stage before the institution has touched it, she withdraws it from her own login, amends it and sends it again.
