The Award to Scheduled Castes Students Who Secured Top Ranks at State and District Level in Standard X and XII, also known as the Sahuji Maharaj Assistance scheme (referred to on some Gujarat portals as the Shahuji Maharaj Special Incentive Aid), is a cash award run by the Government of Gujarat. It is administered by the Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, under the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department, and it operates only within Gujarat.
The award recognises Scheduled Caste students who finished among the highest rankers in the Standard X (SSC) and Standard XII (HSC) board examinations. Prizes go to the top three positions at both the state and the district level, and the benefit is paid as a one-time cash prize. The stated purpose is to encourage strong academic performance among SC students and to help top scorers continue their studies.
This is a merit recognition scheme rather than a general scholarship, so it reaches a narrow group: only SC students who placed in the leading ranks of the board results qualify.
