About ASCS
The Award Scheme for Candidates Selected in NDA, IMA, OTA, INA, IAF is a state scheme run by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand. It gives a one-time cash award to candidates from Uttarakhand who have been selected for the National Defence Academy (NDA), the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Officers Training Academy (OTA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), or the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The benefit is a single cash payment, administered through the state's higher education scholarship portal. It recognises candidates from Uttarakhand who clear selection for these defence academies and go on to officer training.
Eligibility is limited to permanent residents of Uttarakhand who reach selection at one of these academies, and the award is claimed after the result is declared.

Who can apply
Eligibility criteria
| The candidate must be a native or permanent resident of Uttarakhand. | |
| The candidate should have been selected for service at one of the premier defence academies, such as National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers Training Academy (OTA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) or Indian Air Force (IAF). | |
| The applicant must either be currently undergoing training at the respective academy or have been formally inducted into the defence service. | |
| The candidate must have successfully completed the relevant training and course. |
