Overview

About ATLG

Assistance to Law Graduates is a Tamil Nadu state welfare scheme run by the Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons. It gives differently abled law graduates in the state a cash grant of Rs 50,000 towards enrolling with the Bar Council as an advocate.

myScheme records the benefit as a cash payment, so it reaches the graduate as direct financial assistance rather than a service or a loan. To qualify, an applicant must be a differently abled person who holds a law degree and lives in the district that administers the scheme. There is no fee to apply.

The scheme runs offline through the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer, who issues the prescribed application form and collects the completed one, so a graduate applies at the district welfare office rather than through a portal. An applicant submits the form with a disability identity card and a law degree certificate, and can ask for a dated acknowledgement on submission.
