Scholarship
Book Bank Scheme: I(BBSI)
Overview
About BBSI
Book Bank Scheme: I is a state education scheme of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The department runs welfare and scholarship programmes for Adi Dravidar (Scheduled Caste), Scheduled Tribe and Adi Dravidar convert students across the state, and the book bank is one of its education-support measures.
The scheme supplies textbooks for professional courses such as medicine, engineering, law, MBA, veterinary science, agriculture and polytechnic study. The books are held in a book bank rather than given away: a student draws a set for the duration of the course and returns it to the library on completing it, so the same books move on to later batches. Because the books are shared, provision is planned for a group of students rather than one set each.
It is meant for Adi Dravidar and Tribal students in Tamil Nadu who hold a Government of India scholarship and are studying one of the covered professional courses. The exact list of courses, the sharing arrangement and the documents required are set by the department, so if you are considering it, confirm your eligibility and the current application route against the official scheme listing before you apply.
