Assistance to Lawyers for Starting their Practice(ATLFSTP)
Overview
About ATLFSTP
The Assistance to Lawyers for Starting their Practice scheme is run by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. It supports early-career, unemployed lawyers from the Adi Dravidar and Tribal communities who are trying to set up in the legal profession.
The department gives a cash grant to help meet the early costs of setting up an independent practice. It is meant for advocates who are still unemployed and have not yet built a practice of their own.
To qualify, an applicant has to be a resident of Tamil Nadu, belong to the Adi Dravidar or Tribal community, and have enrolled as a lawyer within the last five years while remaining unemployed. The applicant's annual family income must not be more than ₹1,00,000.
