Scholarship
Aswachh Dhandha Chhaatravrtti(ADC)
Overview
About ADC
Aswachh Dhandha Chhaatravrtti is a centrally sponsored scholarship implemented in Madhya Pradesh. It is meant for schoolchildren whose parents earn a living from occupations classed as unclean and hazardous, and a child qualifies through the parent's work rather than through academic merit.
The scheme covers students from Class 1 to Class 10, with parents engaged in work such as manual scavenging, the flaying of animal carcasses, or waste picking. Its purpose is to reduce dropout by easing the yearly cost of schooling, and it does this through a cash grant paid for each year of study.
Support is directed at Scheduled Caste families resident in Madhya Pradesh. The scheme's official terms set the amount and the documents an applicant must submit.
