Overview

About AGMA

The Annal Gandhi Memorial Award is a state scheme of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. It recognises students from the SC/ST (Hindu Adi Dravidar) community who top their district in the plus two (Higher Secondary) public examination, and its stated aim is to encourage academic excellence and help these students pursue higher studies.

The award is given district by district. In each district it goes to one boy and one girl who secure the first rank in the plus two public examination. The benefit is paid as cash rather than a fee waiver: ₹2,000 in the first year, followed by ₹1,500 a year for the next five years.

To qualify, a student must be a resident of Tamil Nadu, belong to the Hindu Adi Dravidar (SC/ST) community, and have secured the district first rank in the plus two public examination. The application is offline, with the form collected from and submitted through the student's own educational institution. myScheme lists the award among Tamil Nadu's state schemes, so confirm the current documents and route on the official listing before applying.
