Overview

About VVSVE

The Veda Vyasa Scheme for Vedic Education is a state scholarship run by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation (ABC), a government-owned body set up by the Andhra Pradesh state government in December 2014 to support economically weaker Brahmin students. It sits under the state government rather than any central ministry, and selection is handled by the corporation's State Level Selection Committee.

The scheme exists to encourage full-time Vedic education among Brahmin students in Andhra Pradesh who want to study at a Veda Pathasala but do not have the means to fund it. The benefit is direct financial assistance, paid in cash, with the amount rising with the age of the student and the Vedic course being pursued.

It is aimed at students of the Brahmin community who are resident in Andhra Pradesh and enrolled in a recognised Vedic course. Applicants are expected to be studying at an institution registered with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams or the state Endowments Department, and the scheme is meant for those not already receiving boarding or lodging support from those bodies.
