Overview

About SSSUK

The Swanath Scholarship Scheme is a financial support programme for students in Uttarakhand pursuing technical education at the diploma and degree level. In the state it is administered by the Directorate of Technical Education, Uttarakhand, and it follows the Swanath scheme run nationally by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for students at AICTE-approved institutions.

The scheme is meant for students who have lost family support and need help meeting the cost of their studies. Selected candidates receive a cash scholarship paid each year for the length of their course, delivered by direct bank transfer, to put towards expenses such as fees, books and equipment. The support runs across the full diploma or degree programme rather than a single year.

It is aimed at diploma and graduate-level technical students who are orphans, whose parents or either parent died due to COVID-19, or who are dependents of martyrs from the Armed Forces or Central Armed Police Forces. A family income ceiling applies, and applications are made online through the national scholarship portal.
