Overview

About STITI

Stipends to Trainees in Industrial Training Institute is a state government scheme run by the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra. It is meant for Scheduled Caste students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state.

The scheme's stated aim is to support technical training for Scheduled Caste trainees at an ITI so they are better placed for job opportunities. The support itself is a modest monthly stipend during training: a trainee living in a Department of Technical Education hostel receives ₹100 a month in all, part from that department and part from the Social Welfare Department.

Eligibility is limited to permanent residents of Maharashtra from the Scheduled Caste category who are training at a recognised ITI, subject to the department's income ceiling for the applicant's father. You apply as an individual student, offline through your ITI and then the District Social Welfare Officer at the Zilla Parishad, not as an institution.
