Overview

About SSSEBCTV

This stipend is run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. It supports students from the socially and educationally backward classes with a small monthly cash payment while they study, so that the day-to-day cost of staying enrolled is a little easier to carry.

The benefit is a fixed monthly amount – Rs 400 a month, paid for ten months of the year. Eligibility is confirmed through Aadhaar, with fallbacks such as OTP, face or iris authentication where a fingerprint scan does not work. The department notified this round of stipends afresh in June 2024.

It sits alongside parallel stipend schemes the department runs under the same notification for other groups, including economically backward, minority, nomadic and de-notified tribe students. Income limits, documents and other conditions are set by the department, so belonging to the category is not on its own enough; check the current eligibility and benefit figures on the scheme's official listing before you apply.
