Swami Vivekananda Exam Oriented Residential Training(SVEORT)
Overview
About SVEORT
The Swami Vivekananda Exam Oriented Residential Training scheme is run by the Gujarat government's Labour and Employment Department, through its Directorate of Employment and Training. It offers residential coaching to young people in the state who are preparing for recruitment into the armed forces and police.
This is an in-kind benefit rather than a cash grant. Selected candidates get residential coaching for both the written and physical stages of recruitment to the Army, Air Force, Navy, paramilitary forces and the state police. Physical tests such as running, pull-ups and the long jump are handled by physical training teachers and retired army or police instructors, while separate faculty cover written subjects including mathematics, science, English and general knowledge. Trainees stay at the training centre with boarding and lodging for the length of the course and receive a daily stipend.
The training is meant for Gujarat youth who meet the age, educational and physical standards that each recruitment exam sets. It is held at schools, colleges and government or private institutes where ground facilities are available, and the Employment Officer of the concerned district organises the batches. Candidates who want to apply are asked to contact their local Employment Officer.
