Overview

About STEU

Stipend to Educated Unemployed is a state welfare scheme in Mizoram for persons with disabilities. The Directorate of Social Welfare, under the Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs Department, Government of Mizoram, administers it. It sits alongside the directorate's other disability programmes, including the disability pension and the handicapped students' stipend.

The support is a cash stipend. It is meant as income support for educated persons with disabilities who have registered at an Employment Exchange and have not been placed in any gainful occupation. It reaches people who finished their education and looked for work through the exchange system but remain without a job.

If you are an educated person with a disability in Mizoram, registered with an Employment Exchange and still unemployed, this is the scheme aimed at you. The stipend is paid to those who meet the conditions and continue to meet them.
