The Stipend Scheme for Poultry Farming Training for Schedule Caste pays an adult from Gujarat's Scheduled Castes to attend a six-day course in scientific poultry farming. It is a training allowance, not an education scholarship: no college, class or marks are involved. The scheme's myScheme listing, in its archived copy, puts the payment at Rs 300 a day for six days plus Rs 200 for the journey, capped at Rs 2,000, credited to the trainee's bank account.

The course is run by the Intensive Poultry Development Project offices and District Poultry Extension Centres of Gujarat's Directorate of Animal Husbandry, which sits under the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department. The Directorate's current scheme page groups this stipend with a follow-on unit of 25 RIR or Kadaknath birds and lists Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and economically weaker sections as the groups it serves. The money for Scheduled Caste trainees comes from a resolution of their own: ACD/PEF/e-file/2/2024/3846/P1, approved on 01-04-2026, which continues the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan package of goat and poultry schemes and carries the training stipend as a separate line next to an honorarium for the lecturers who teach the course.

The Directorate's activity table records 6,555 under poultry farming training for 2025-26, a figure the table does not split by caste or category. The stipend is modest. The course matters more for what comes after it, because each of the bird-unit subsidies described below is open only to someone who has had poultry training.

Neither the listing nor the resolution fixes a calendar deadline. The clocks that do bind a trainee run from the course and the application:

One date sits in the background. The current Scheduled Caste resolution was approved on 01-04-2026, and the scheme runs on a yearly budget. A trainee who wants the 25-bird unit should finish the course and apply for the unit inside the same April to March year.

Eligibility criteria

In the resolution approved on 01-04-2026, the stipend conditions for this line admit only Scheduled Caste beneficiaries of Gujarat State, ask for a caste certificate with the application and give women priority (Scheduled Caste Sub Plan resolution). None of those conditions mentions an age ceiling, a schooling level or land ownership, so nothing in them shuts out a landless labourer or a homemaker who holds the certificate.

The certificate is what separates this scheme from its neighbours. Tribal trainees and applicants from economically weaker sections take the same course but are paid from different resolutions, so the caste certificate filed with the iKhedut application decides which budget pays you.

Income is where the listing and the resolution part ways. The listing asks for income proof and gives below-poverty-line applicants priority, but the Scheduled Caste resolution's stipend conditions name only the caste certificate. The income test in the form of a below-poverty-line, rural-poor or urban-poor certificate belongs to the separate resolution for economically weaker trainees. Carry an income certificate anyway, since the listing still names it, and let the centre tell you whether it needs it.

Exclusions

The listing publishes no exclusion list. The conditions behind it still rule out four kinds of applicant:

• A second member of the same family. The Directorate's scheme page allows only one member per family to take this benefit, once in a lifetime.
• A trainee who drops out. The resolution pays the stipend to a trainee who has taken the six-day course and makes the centre keep an attendance register for the training period (resolution conditions).
• An application with wrong or missing papers, until they are fixed. Such an application is not inwarded online, and the applicant has seven days from applying to get the correct documents to the office (myScheme application notes).
• A holder of a Scheduled Tribe certificate or an applicant filing as economically weaker. They are paid from other resolutions, covered in the questions at the end.

Renewal conditions

The stipend is paid once. Because the Directorate's scheme page limits it to one member of a family for a lifetime (Directorate scheme page), sitting a second batch later does not earn a second payment.

What does carry forward is the training itself, and the clock on it differs by subsidy. The 25-bird unit accepts only trainees who finished the course in the same financial year as the unit application (25-bird unit conditions), while the 100 broiler bird unit accepts poultry training from any institution in the current or previous years (100-broiler conditions).

The stipend reaches the trainee's account and never arrives as cash. The resolution makes the office that ran the course pay it online by DBT, and the Directorate's implementation guidelines add that the money moves by RTGS, NEFT or e-payment, with financial sanction from the Regional Joint Director of Animal Husbandry (iKhedut implementation guidelines).

The larger benefit is what the training opens. Three bird-unit subsidies are available to Scheduled Caste trainees, each with its own training condition:

RIR stands for Rhode Island Red, and Kadaknath is an Indian black-fleshed breed. The Scheduled Caste resolution prints the 25-bird unit's costing in Gujarati numerals: a unit cost of Rs ૮૦૦૦, of which the state meets Rs ૬૦૦૦ through the reared birds and their feed, while the trainee's Rs ૨૦૦૦ share is the night shelter, a coop or a bamboo basket, along with the feeding and watering pots (resolution). The same resolution expects the unit to be kept going for two years in normal circumstances.

• The beneficiary will be given maximum ₹2000 (direct in bank account) stipend for six days training. (Considering ₹300/- per day, ₹1800/- for 6 days as daily allowance and ₹200/- as to & fro transport fare with the maximum total stipend ₹2000/-)
• Beneficiary will be given poultry training certificate after completion of training.

What to prepare

The listing's document list is shown below. Three things it does not spell out come from the application conditions:

• The printout of the confirmed iKhedut application, signed or thumb-impressed. Applying online alone does not count as an application (myScheme application notes).
• Copies of the barcoded ration card and the Aadhaar card, attached to the printout, the Aadhaar copy only if an Aadhaar number was given in the application (Directorate scheme page).
• Scans in PDF of no more than 200 KB each, if you upload rather than hand over the papers (myScheme application notes).

Of the certificates, the caste certificate is the one the current Scheduled Caste resolution names in its stipend conditions.

Step by step

How to apply

The official papers disagree on what comes first. The Scheduled Caste resolution's stipend condition has the trainee apply online on iKhedut and then take the course at the Intensive Poultry Development Project office or District Poultry Extension Centre, which pays the stipend online afterwards (resolution). The Directorate's scheme page puts the online application after the course, and its implementation guidelines have the centre fill its training batches against an allotted target first (guidelines). The centre both runs the batch and releases the money, so its answer is the one that counts.

1. Speak to the centre first. Find out when its next six-day batch starts and whether it wants your iKhedut application before or after the course.
2. Apply on iKhedut. Register with your Aadhaar and mobile number. The application address printed on the listing, an old ASPX form, now only redirects to the new iKhedut site, so begin at its home page.
3. Confirm, print and sign. The listing gives you seven days from saving the application to confirm it. The signed printout then goes in with your papers, either scanned onto iKhedut or carried to the office printed on the form inside the 7-day limit (Directorate scheme page).
4. Attend every day of the course. The centre keeps the attendance register the stipend depends on, and issues the certificate with your photograph at the end.
5. Wait for pre-approval and sanction. The component officer pre-approves eligible applications on iKhedut, and the Regional Joint Director of Animal Husbandry gives financial sanction before payment (guidelines).

Tracking the application and the payment. The Directorate's scheme page places pre-approval on the iKhedut portal itself, so your confirmed application there is the first place to look for progress. Neither the listing nor the Directorate's scheme page describes a separate payment tracker for this stipend. If the transfer is late, go back to the centre that trained you: the Scheduled Caste resolution makes that office responsible for releasing the stipend online (resolution).

How winners are picked

Selection process

Nobody sits a test for this stipend. What limits the seats is arithmetic: the Scheduled Caste resolution's iKhedut conditions let the component officer pre-approve eligible applications only up to each district's physical target, by a procedure the Director of Animal Husbandry fixes and none of the papers cited here spells out (resolution). Within that, the only ordering rules on record are the priority the resolution gives women and the below-poverty-line priority on the listing.

The resolution also protects the most marginalised Scheduled Caste communities. It sets aside "જોગવાઈની ૧૫ ટકા રકમ", fifteen per cent of the package's provision, for beneficiaries from communities it names such as Valmiki, Hadi, Nadiya, Senva, Turi, Garo, Vankar Sadhu and Bava, and says any part of that share they cannot use goes back to other Scheduled Caste beneficiaries (resolution).

Terms & conditions

• No cash, ever. The guidelines rule out a cash payment of the assistance in any case (guidelines).
• The Director can change the rules. The same guidelines give the Director of Animal Husbandry the power to amend the terms, and the amended terms bind the beneficiary.
• Budget and target limits. The resolution allows assistance only within the fixed number of beneficiaries and the budget provision, and tells the department not to let either be exceeded (resolution). An eligible trainee can still miss out in a year when the district's target is full.
• Certificate and attendance. The centre issues a certificate with the trainee's photograph after the course and keeps an attendance register while it runs (resolution).
