Overview

About SSSMS

The Shridev Suman State Merit Scholarship is a school-level merit scholarship of the Government of Uttarakhand. The Secondary Education Department, under the state's Department of Education, runs it, and the qualifying examination is set and conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Uttarakhand.

SCERT holds a single eligibility test that serves both this scheme and the Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal scholarship. Students who sit the test but are not selected for the Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal award can qualify here instead, with the scholarship going to the next candidates in order of merit from each development block of the state.

This is a monthly cash scholarship for school students in Uttarakhand. Eligible candidates are drawn from Class 8 pupils enrolled in government, government-aided, and local body schools in the state and selected on the strength of the SCERT test. The aim is to back meritorious students across Uttarakhand's development blocks and help them stay in school.
