Overview

About SFASMSSPCE

The Special Financial Assistance Scheme for Meritorious Students of the State for Preparation of Competitive Examinations is a state scheme run by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand. It gives a one-time cash award to students from the state who have cleared an early stage of a major competitive examination.

The purpose is practical: clearing a preliminary or written round is only the first hurdle, and the later stages carry their own costs of study, travel and coaching. The award is meant to ease that burden so a candidate from Uttarakhand can keep preparing for the next stage. The benefit is paid as cash, once per person.

It is intended for permanent residents of the state who have cleared the preliminary examination held by the Union or a State Public Service Commission for Group 'A' and Group 'B' posts, or the written examination for the armed forces such as the NDA, CDS or OTA. If you are weighing whether you qualify, read the residency and exam conditions on the official myScheme listing before you apply, as the department has revised the terms over time.
