Overview

About SGSSDS

The Sikkim Grant of Scholarship to Students with Disabilities Scheme is a state-level scholarship for students with disabilities in Sikkim. It is run by the Government of Sikkim through the state welfare department that handles disability programmes, whose Disability Division administers support of this kind.

Introduced in 2014, the scheme provides financial assistance to differently-abled students to help them meet the cost of academic education and of technical or professional training. The benefit is a composite one, so the support is not confined to a single expense head such as tuition alone.

It is meant for individual students with disabilities who belong to Sikkim. The disability categories that qualify, the income and course conditions, and the amount payable are set by the state, and a student should confirm these against their own circumstances before applying.
