Son/Daughter Education Assistance (UKBOCWWB)(SDEA(UKBOCWWB))
Overview
About SDEA(UKBOCWWB)
Son/Daughter Education Assistance is run by the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (UKBOCWWB), the state welfare board for construction workers under the Labour Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The board registers building and construction workers across Uttarakhand and funds benefits for them and their families, and this scheme is the education strand of that support.
The benefit is a cash grant towards the education of a registered worker's children, from primary school through college, with professional and technical courses covered at the fees charged by government institutions. The approved amount is paid by direct transfer to the bank account of the worker or guardian.
It is meant for the children of workers currently registered with UKBOCWWB, and support is limited to two children per worker. Eligibility runs through the parent's registration with the board, so a family that has not enrolled, or has let its registration lapse, falls outside the scheme. It applies only within Uttarakhand.
