Overview

About SMSTOMSSSFC

The Scholarship / Merit Scholarship to OBC, Minority, SC and ST students from Class I to XII is a state scheme of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is run by the Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities, which works out of Vikas Bhawan at I.P. Estate in New Delhi and handles the territory's scholarship and fee-reimbursement schemes for these communities.

The scheme pays a cash scholarship to school students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class and minority communities in Delhi. The aim is to lower the cost of schooling and help children from these groups stay in education through the school years. The award is not a flat figure; it varies with the class a student is in and with academic performance, and the department sets the current rates in its scholarship guidelines each year.

It is open to students in classes I to XII who study at government or recognised schools in Delhi and belong to one of the eligible communities. The finer conditions, such as income limits and the marks needed to qualify, are fixed by the department in those annual guidelines, so what a student receives depends on the year's rules rather than a single fixed amount.
