Scholarship for Self Finance Colleges Students of NT/DNT(SFSFCS)
Overview
About SFSFCS
The Scholarship for Self Finance Colleges Students of NT/DNT is a state scholarship offered by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. Within that department, the Directorate of Developing Castes Welfare runs the educational schemes for Nomadic and De-notified Tribe (NT/DNT) communities, and Gujarat also operates a dedicated Nomadic and De-notified Tribes Development Corporation for these groups.
The scheme provides cash financial assistance to NT/DNT students who are studying in self-financed, or unaided, colleges. Fees at self-financed institutions tend to run higher than at government and grant-in-aid colleges, and the support is meant to keep that cost from ending a student's higher education.
It is aimed at students from Gujarat's Nomadic and De-notified Tribe communities who are enrolled in higher education at self-financed colleges. Applicants qualify as members of the NT/DNT category recognised by the state, and the benefit is paid as a cash scholarship rather than a fee waiver or in-kind support.
