Overview
About SPHDSSEBC
This is a state scholarship in Gujarat for students from Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) who are pursuing an M.Phil or a Ph.D. It is run by the Director, Developing Castes Welfare, under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat.
The scheme gives cash assistance to SEBC research scholars so that the cost of postgraduate study does not force capable students to drop out. The aim is to keep students in higher education and research who might otherwise stop for financial reasons, with a separate award set for the M.Phil stage and the Ph.D stage.
It is meant for SEBC-category students who are natives of Gujarat and enrolled in an M.Phil or Ph.D programme, subject to the family income limits the department sets for rural and urban applicants. Applications are made through the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department portal, so read the current eligibility and income conditions there before applying.
