Overview

About SSTSPPC

Saphalam is a cash scholarship from the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala, for transgender students in professional courses at the degree or diploma level. It pays an annual amount towards the cost of study, so a student who has already secured a seat is not pushed out of the course for want of money.

The department runs the scheme as part of its work to bring transgender people into the social mainstream and to widen their employment options. The assistance is meant to help students finish the course they have started and improve their prospects of steady work afterwards.

It is for transgender students who are residents of Kerala and have secured admission on merit seats in government, aided or self-financing colleges. The benefit is paid as cash. The exact amount, the courses covered and the documents you need are set out on the department's scheme page and the myScheme entry.
