Overview

About RSDS

The Research Scholarship for Disabled Students is a state government scholarship in Madhya Pradesh for differently-abled students pursuing doctoral (PhD) research. It is run by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the same department that administers the state's college scholarships and university research support.

The scholarship is aimed at the research years, when a student is registered for a PhD and living costs continue while earnings stay limited. It provides a monthly cash payment that is transferred directly to the scholar's bank account under Direct Benefit Transfer, rather than paid through a college or university. The benefit is financial support only, and a candidate still needs admission to a recognised PhD programme to draw it.

It is a state-level scheme for individual applicants, so eligibility rests on being a resident of Madhya Pradesh, holding a recognised disability status, and being enrolled for doctoral research. The exact conditions and the payable amount are fixed by the department.
